Whisky Online Auctions Tasting Notes Cask 5490:
Colour: White wine.
Nose: The same kind of slightly brittle, mineral and white stone fruit structure. Delicately saline, buttery and full of cereal qualities and herbal aspects. Some sea greens, toasted sesame seeds, heather beer and a touch of cornflour. Some lime juice and wet pebbles.
Palate: Quite oily this one. Peppery and with a slightly more textured fruitiness. Goes towards coal hearths, old boiler sheds and graphite. Quite drying with notes of freshly baked seed bread, sunflower oil, grass and wet rocks. Still a fragile coastal seam throughout.
Finish: Good length. A little lactic, some notes of yoghurt, edible flowers, grist, a faded wood smoke and some camphor.
Comments: Another solid mid-aged Jura. Again ideal for bottling now or in the next 12 months.
