The handwritten batch code A-27-82 is significant. Among early Rowan's Creek bottlings, the final two digits of the batch code are widely understood to refer to the distillation year of the youngest whiskey in the batch, making this an exceptionally early release containing bourbon distilled in 1982. With the original 12-year age statement, the bottling would therefore date to approximately 1994, during the brand's earliest production.
