1 bottle Teaninich 1993 - 2004. 10 Year Old. Scotch Malt Whisky Society 59.24. One of 276 bottles. No box. 70cl. 61.5%. 107.6 Proof. Level in neck. Good condition. From the archives. "Apricot skins. The distillery stands on the outskirts of Alness in ross-shire and was founded by the local laird, Captain Hugh Munro, as early as 1817, although it took off in the 1830s. Its make was not available as a single until 1992. This example is from a refill hogshead and is pale gold in colour. As might be expected from a relatively young malt at full strength, the nose is quite prickly, but behind this creamy or buttery, like buttery pastry, with slightly scorched edges and fruity apricot skins and maple syrup. Suprisingly drinkable at strength. Big and spicy, very sweet with a short finish. Water brings up estery notes, nail polish remover, and a fruity complex. A whiff of yeast, there's still a slightly scorched note. The flavour is not as sweet as expected, quite fizzy, and somewhat bitter in the finish. Takes very little water - better at natural strength." The original price for this bottle in 2004 was £36.
