Aberfeldy 1982-1997 - 15 Year Old - SMWS 60.18

Aberfeldy 1982-1997. 15 Year Old. Bottled by Scotch Malt Whisky Society. SMWS 60.18. One of 664 bottles. 70cl. 63.7%. 111.4 Proof.

From the archives: "Spangles and white pepper. From the distillery which comes first on any list, built by Dewar's 101 years ago. This example is a 'cracker' but simple and straightforward. Pale gold in colour, with an initial light pastry nose, then wild-flowers and some solvent and white pepper. With water, Spangles spring to mind and the white pepper remains. Appetising, and this carries on in the pleasantly sweet, well balanced, clean flavour, with a faint hint of aniseed in the finish. It would make a grand aperitif." The original price for this bottle in 1997 was £39.
