Ardbeg 1966-1992 - 26 Year Old - SMWS 33.13 - Sweet Sour & Phenolic

Ardbeg 1966 - 1992. 26 year old. Bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Society cask number 33.13. Sweet Sour & Phenolic. One of 268 bottles matured in a Sweet Sour & Phenolic. 70cl. 50.5%.

From the Archives. ''A good mid-gold colour, from a first fill of a bourbon or Spanish oak cask. The peat comes through strongly as you would expect given the provenance, but it does not overwhelm the spirit, in which particular this is to be preffered to the proprietary bottling. The nose of liquor comes through the smoke: it is sweet and sour at once. The taste is light and sweet and, as you would expect, a bit phenolic.'' The original price of this bottle in 1992 was a mere £48.
