Dunvilles 12 Year Old - PX Cask
Dunville's 12 Year Old. Finished in Ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks. 700ml. 46%.
Founded in 2013 on the Ards Peninsula in County Down, Echlinville Distillery has become one of the pioneers of Ireland's modern whiskey revival. Established by Shane Braniff, it was the first newly licensed distillery in Northern Ireland in over 125 years and remains one of the few Irish distilleries to control every stage of production, from growing its own barley on the family farm to distilling, maturing and bottling on-site.
Alongside its award-winning Dunville's Irish Whiskey and Old Comber revival, Echlinville also produces gin, poitín and other premium spirits. The distillery combines traditional copper pot still distillation with a strong emphasis on provenance, sustainability and local agriculture, creating spirits that reflect the unique character of the Ards Peninsula. Although still a relatively young producer, Echlinville has quickly established an outstanding reputation for quality, authenticity and innovation, making it one of the most exciting names in contemporary Irish whiskey.
Dunville's is one of Ireland's most historic whiskey brands, originally established in Belfast in 1808 by the Dunville family. Produced at the renowned Royal Irish Distilleries, it became one of the country's best-known whiskeys before production ceased following the distillery's closure in 1936. After lying dormant for more than 75 years, the brand was revived in 2012 by Echlinville Distillery in County Down, Northern Ireland.
Today, Dunville's combines its rich heritage with modern craftsmanship, producing an acclaimed range of Irish whiskeys that includes single malts, blended whiskeys and limited-edition releases. The brand has earned a particularly strong reputation for its expertly managed sherry cask maturations, with expressions such as the award-winning 10 Year Old PX Single Malt and the revived Three Crowns blend proving especially popular. By combining traditional production methods with careful cask selection and extended maturation, Dunville's has re-established itself as one of the leading names in the modern Irish whiskey renaissance.
