Fredrick Smith Fine Old Jamaica Rum - 1930s

Fine Old Jamaica Rum. Fredrick Smith Ltd. Wine & Spirit Merchants, Aston Model Brewery, Birmingham. Branded lead foil seal with driven cork. No capacity stated although equal to 75cl. 70 proof. 30 Under Proof.

As stated on the label this is an old Jamaican Rum. In fact this rum has been sat in the bottle for around 75 years. Like many old spirits from the early 20th century this was bottled for a wine & spirits merchant. Namely a brewery in Birmingham called Aston Model. It was established by a young businessman called Fredrick Smith. Fredrick was from a long line of brewers and expanded his business into several sectors of the drinks industry including rum. I've seen other examples of this label but none as old as this beauty.
