Hennessy Paradis Rare Cognac
Hennessy Paradis Rare Cognac. 70cl. 40%.
First created in 1979 by Maurice Fillioux, Hennessy Paradis is made up of eaux-de-vie between 25 and 100 years of age.
Hennessy is one of the Big Four cognac producers, alongside Martell, Remy Martin and Courvoisier. The business was founded in Charente by Irishman Richard Hennessy in 1765 after a military career in the French Army. The Hennessy brand was registered as Jas. Hennessy & Co. in 1813 by Richard Hennessy’s son James, who appointed Jean Fillioux as his Master Blender, a position that has been held by Fillioux’s descendants for seven generations since.
James Hennessy invented the VSOP classification in 1817 and his son Maurice Hennessy later introduced the star rating system for Cognac in 1865 and invented the XO category in 1870. In 1971 Kilian Hennessy oversaw the company’s merger with Moet & Chandon to create Moet-Hennessy, which today is jointly owned by parent company LVMH and Diageo.
